The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) is the oldest stock exchange in the United States. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and founded in 1790. In 1949 and 1954, it merged with the Baltimore Stock Exchange and the Washington Stock Exchange.
On October 22, 1981, trading was halted on Philadelphia Stock Exchange after anonymous callers said bombs had been placed in the buildings.
Nowadays, this stock exchange is known as NASDAQ OMX PHLX.
